Leadership & Faculty

Leadership & Faculty

Leadership & Structure

At New England Jewish Academy, an ECC through 12th grade school, we’re proud to have a strong, cohesive leadership team that works together to support the academic, emotional, and social growth of every student.

Our leadership structure is intentionally designed to ensure that every aspect of a student’s experience is guided by thoughtful collaboration and expertise, focusing on the big picture from ECC-12th grade.

This team includes:

Head of School – Esther Eisenman
As Head of School, Mrs. Eisenman leads our entire community, focusing on the school’s vision, values, and long-term growth. She works closely with faculty, students, and families to ensure that NEJA continues to be a place of academic excellence and strong Jewish identity.

Dean of Students – Batsheva Oberstein
Mrs. Oberstein focuses on students’ social-emotional growth, collaborating with teachers to support student well-being, character development, and positive behavior. She works hand-in-hand with the school nurse and social worker to address both personal and interpersonal needs that arise during the school day.

Director of Teaching and Learning – Jakir Sorscher
Mr. Sorscher partners with teachers to design lessons that appropriately challenge and engage students across all grade levels. He also works with the Learning Center to ensure that critical study skills—including organization, note-taking, and executive functioning—are integrated into the curriculum. Mr. Sorscher serves as a key resource for all academic concerns.

Together, all three leaders meet consistently and work together as a team. This leadership model ensures that every student is supported academically, socially, and emotionally throughout their time at NEJA. By maintaining clear, consistent communication between students, teachers, and families, we are able to provide a smooth, connected educational journey—from preschool through high school graduation.
