Jakir Sorscher

Mr. Jakir Sorscher serves as Director of Teaching and Learning at NEJA, working across all grade levels to help shape a dynamic, engaging, and enriching academic experience for every student. He collaborates closely with faculty to cultivate a culture of instructional excellence—providing ongoing guidance, professional development, and support in designing lessons that are both rigorous and student-centered. His leadership ensures that instruction is thoughtfully differentiated, with a focus on meeting each student’s unique learning needs.
Mr. Sorscher brings nearly a decade of experience in teaching, special education, and school leadership. Before joining NEJA, he served as Special Education Supervisor at Yeshivat Darchei Eres in Brooklyn, where he led a team of learning specialists and supported the needs of more than 100 students across multiple grades.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master’s in General and Special Education, and dual certification in both areas. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, expected to be completed in Spring 2026. Mr. Sorscher’s unwavering commitment to academic growth, individualized support, and excellence in instruction makes him a vital member of NEJA’s leadership team.
