Tuition & Affordability

Tuition & Affordability

The New England Jewish Academy offers a transformative subsidized tuition for all students from Kindergarten – 12th Grade.

“We genuinely believe that sending children to a Jewish day school is the most important decision parents can make,” said Ann and Jeremy Pava. “We know that day schools immerse entire families in exploring our tradition and sacred values and enables a knowledge and understanding of Judaism that can never be replicated anywhere.”

“We hope this gift will encourage enrollment by making day school tuition affordable and accessible to a broader range of families while also ensuring that our school provides an academic program of the highest quality.”

Tuition rates are reviewed annually by the NEJA Board of Trustees. Tuition rates for the new school year are released every Spring and posted here.

Income-Based Tuition Cap: Combining Affordability and Excellence

NEJA is committed to making its high-quality education as accessible and affordable as possible. The Income-based tuition cap allows us to align tuition costs to a family's income level, thereby welcoming more qualified students into our community.

What it Is
The income-based tuition cap is a needs-based financial assistance program that matches the cost of tuition to a family's unique financial position. By offering assistance at the family-income level (rather than by the number of children enrolled per family), we can ensure that a NEJA education reaches and serves more families.

How it Works
All new and returning families are eligible to apply for the income-based tuition cap. To apply, complete the FACTS Tuition Management System form, which will be used to calculate tuition. Families will pay tuition in a range they can afford.

Income-based tuition cap: no family will pay more than the following percentages of Adjusted Gross Income (AGI):
15% of AGI for families earning under $300,000
17.5% of AGI for families earning between $300,000–$400,000
20% of AGI for families earning above $400,000
For example, if a family earns $180,000, and their tuition obligation after the initiative-amount is $33,500, that family’s tuition will be capped at $27,000 under the new plan.

(Please note that the tuition cap does not include registration and all other school fees. For the coming year, AGI will be calculated based on the family’s 2024 tax return)

“The Mesopotamians built ziggurats. The Egyptians built pyramids. The Greeks built the Parthenon. The Romans built the Colosseum. Jews built schools. That’s why we’re still here, still strong, and still young while all those super powers in their day have been consigned to history.”
